depending on your trans an LS3 starts at about 355-365rwhp as a base tune (obviously location and weather will play a roll in your dyno numbers)
What kind of upgrades you looking at?
Texas speed headers and X pipe and axel back exhaust. Intake. Tune it and that’s it. I am near Houston so on the coast btw. Just curious what these cars are capable of. When funds allow I would love to charge it or build a stroker.

I've got an 09 base, A6, 3LT. Bolted on 1 7/8 long tube headers, catless 3inch x pipe to my stock npp, cai and tuned.
Dyno showed 388 rwhp and 403 torque. The tune definitely brings these motors alive though.
Thats what I was curious about. How much a tune brings the motor alive ? I know I take and exhaust helps to a point but wasn’t sure how much a tune would wake it up or not see much diffence

Yeah right now if I punch it or get on it it doesn’t spin or break them loose. I want the true vette feel Was curious how the torque management would act or hurt

I'm boosted with 550 to the wheels, these motors can handle quite a bit.
With what you have listed you will have no problem breaking the tires loose. The tune will be the key.

Both of my stock LS3 Vettes would tear tires loose with relative ease. Did you turn off TC or active management?
Yeah. I would move it to the competitive drive mode I took off from the gas station and it would spin but not much. I know my cousin had a vette and would spin through second and ask for more. Just made me think if I had it tuned it would be a different car.

Spinning is not winning and HP numbers don't directly relate to much without the vehicle they're within.
You first need to seriously assess what your bottom line goals are, before you can create a plan to achieve them with the time, abilities, and finances you have available.
True. And spinning isn’t the goal for sure. Just a reference of how the car was acting For me I will never hit a track I am just a weekend warrior/ date car. And budget is low so will save a purchase when possible

So forget HP numbers, since they are meaningless. Low budget means you need to do the labor yourself. The best bangs for the bucks are:
A higher stall converter (~$900-1000)
Z06 manifolds, down pipes, and H-pipe modified with reducers (~$200-400)
Z06 mufflers welded to your over-the-axle pipes (~$200-400)
The $2 shroud prop
And a tune after all the above is done. (~$400-500)
Don't use the competitive drive mode. It's only valuable if your car is set up for serious track competition. Just do the one button push to turn off TC and then only when launching with good tires. Have fun, but stay safe.
Ok let’s restart this. Meaning budget meant I will save and do things when possible. I am planning to do Texas speed headers and x pipe with a slp loud mouth axle back. Then tune from me tuning in rosenever. Just curious how much better it will run after all this if any
