Default Anybody Buy Lifters From These Type Of Vendors

I see these type of vendors all over E-Bay and Amazon and in all the reviews never a complaint that they weren't OEM or bad lifters considering they have sold hundreds of sets. They are less than half the price of what the dealers sell them for. Are these legit or is this what you should be paying for them anyway. I don't know much about this stuff.

If it were my motor, I would only buy the very best I could afford and not from ebay. Even then there are still failures.

One suggestion, call a couple of high-end engine builders and ask them what lifters they use and to sell you a set. Katech would be one, Livernois motor sports would be another, I don't know if Pratt and Whitney would respond, maybe they outsource their engines.

I understand that, but not what I am asking. I want to use all oem GM parts, could these be OEM GM lifters at this price and does the vendors explanation that they buy in bulk and repackage makes sense?

Don't call Pratt and Whitney .... they only manufacture and sell large aircraft and military jet engines.

I recently did heads/cam and bought my lifters off ebay the vendor name enginepartsfast.
It was actually a kit came with ls7 lifters, tray guides and bolts for $108. No issues
Should be ok as long they advertise genuine gm lifters

Yes I see the guy you bought yours from, he is another one that advertises these packages of oem GM lifters. That's good to know. I am guessing all these guys that are advertising oem GM lifters are legit in as much they are trying to stay competitive with each other.

OOOPs, meant Pratt and Miller...LOL.

I was on the Katech site earlier today, they like genuine OEM lifters for their motors. Personally, I wouldn't want seconds which these could very well be.

If they are genuine OEM LS7 lifters and the part numbers are the same, I would have no problem purchasing from a seller on eBay.

That being said, while I think the LS7 OEM lifters are a great part, it is never a bad idea to get an upgraded set of lifters for performance applications. Morel sells a very high quality drop in lifter for about 2X the price of the LS7 lifters. In the scheme of things, that is really nothing in terms of cost for a more reliable valve train.

I agree that high quality lifters are very important, but there are many thousands of LS7 lifters out there working flawlessly in high power applications.

Absolutely, agree on the LS7 lifters being a great part. Just wanted to point out other options that don't cost much more.

If its from Katech rest assured its first quality. Interesting to note, Kateck engines are built using all GM components in their valve train.

What you bought were cheap GM replacement lifters not the OEM lifters that were installed in the engine at the factory. If you shop around you can find the factory installed lifter that is reasonably priced although some parts outlets are asking $600. for a set
