Default No acceleration

Hello all. I'm Monty Clark and I'm brand new to the C6 forum. I recently sold my 75 Stingray and bought an 06 with 51K miles. I really love all of the technology, but I have a lot to learn about it. I was driving down the freeway at about 70 mph and I noticed the car slowing down. I pushed down on the accelerator and nothing happened. I tried flooring it and nothing. I took my foot off the accelerator then immediately pushed back down and everything worked. This has happened several times over the last few days. Any help is much appreciated.

Monty

A malfunctioning gas pedal or throttle body should throw a code. Is your check engine light on?

No check engine light. Nothing else is out of the ordinary from what I can tell.

Not necessary.
I recently got 2 problems (bad cam sensor and 6 months later a bad fuel pump harness) and none of them throwed a code.

The C6 is "drive by wire", there is no physical connection between the pedal and throttle. I would check the electrical connections on the pedal assembly and throttle body as a start.

I'm not saying that a fault couldn't go undetected, but the gas pedal and throttle body have built-in sanity checks that make it less likely.

Some codes will clear the MIL after only a few ignition cycles. I think the OP should hook up a scan tool and check the DTC history.

Picking the low-hanging fruit first, check the connector at the gas pedal to see if it's completely seated, maybe even unplug it and then plug it back in. If a prior owner had a Vitesse or something similar installed, this plug/socket would have been manipulated, and perhaps the plug is only making intermittent connections. Make sure the male pins on the connector are intact, straight and even. If everything checks out then using a scan tool for further diagnosis is good advice.

Just had this happen to me and it left me stranded.

I replaced the whole pedal assembly and no more issues. Mine threw 2 codes when this happen ( \P2122 & P2127). I would replace it before you get stranded like me. I picked up a duralast pedal assembly from Autozone for 100 bucks shipped to my door.
