Default Help - strange electrical problem 08 C6Z

Hey, this is an odd one - just popped up last night.

So the car is new to me, 08 heads/cam Z06. Seems to be in good order, I don't think this is a chronic issue from the previous owner - but I can't prove that.

So I had the passenger side DRL/turn signal out...and I decided to fix it. Very simple, Jacked up the front of the car to unload the suspension, popped off the access cover and replaced the bulb. 10 minutes all good. I only mention this because it is the only thing I've done to the car so far.

I restart the car, pull it back in the garage - no issue.

about an hour later, I start the car to take the lil lady out for dinner and all seemed well until the end of the block - all of a sudden I received the following messages:
-Service Fuel System
-Fuel level low (gauge read empty, tank was full)
-Service ABS system
-Service stabilitrack system
-ABS light on
-CEL on
-Traction control light on.

WTF.

So I shut the car off and restart it. Completely back to normal.

I proceed on my way to dinner and pulling in to the lot it did it again. Car is still running fine though. OK, so I back in to a spot and proceed to shut if off and attempt to restart. Now, upon restart, I got nothin' but a CEL on the dash. No dash lights or anything. Accy mode works to roll up the windows though. WTF again.

So I sit a little and all of a sudden, it works again. Car is normal except now there is a CEL on the dash - seems to be running a little strange.

Brought it back home and the P0073 (Ambient Air Sensor) code is set. I reset the code and the car seems to start and run back to normal.

That's where my adventure ends for now. It seems to me like it's a ground somewhere but I can't be sure. Curious if anyone else has seen this bouquet of issues and/or if you have any suggestions as to where to look for a loose ground.

It's a pretty aggressive cam (B3) so I have to assume everything shakes around a lot - could be anything coming loose - just wondering if there's anyone that can point me in the right direction to start looking. Again, it's fine right this second but not sure what this evening may bring.

Thanks everyone.

Matt

WTF.
These symptoms are caused by a power problem, usually a weak battery, but sometimes a loose battery cable or poor connection at the starter. The car will fire up fine, then do what yours did, then work again. I'd start with the battery.

You may have disturbed the sensor which is on the passenger side...just a simple 2 wire thermistor circuit...P0073 is circuit high...it may not be connected !!

Looked like it was a loose battery ground. When they replaced the battery they must have swapped the nuts so the conical nuts were on the hold down and the flanged nuts were on the terminals and they wouldn’t tighten up. Seems to be good now?

thanks again everyone.
