Wheels up launch in slow motion
From last night:
While I've been doing wheelies with the car for years, what makes this one kinda cool is that I was only launching it at 1300RPM without using my 2-step. There's a jackpot race coming up next week that doesn't allow us to use them so I tweaked my tune to have it idle higher, hence the crappy reaction time as I was still figuring out how to cut a light. Normally I leave at 1800RPM using the 2-step with my best ever 60ft being a 1.320 two weeks ago there.
What makes this even cooler still is that my 1.339 60ft was better than this guy's best of 1.340 and he's leaving at 5000RPM off a trans brake. I think his quickest time last night was 10.07.
Ya just gotta love how well that Yank converter is doing it's job!
Thanks again to Nick Bublitz for taking the time to record and post the video.
Awesome! This video is very instructional. A good video is truly the best suspension tuning tool.
Looks like you have that suspension dialed in perfectly with a clean, linear transfer, with no rear end squat. Perfect.
A 1.3x 60’ time is very impressive, especially considering that the Vette’s IRS and transverse leaf spring suspension was not “designed for drag racing”.

I'm an open book when it comes to my car and don't ever try to hide anything.
Short version is that it's an LS7/A6 combo with a huge cam, Yank SS4000 converter, Z06 differential with 3.42 gears, QA1 double adjustable shocks on all four corners, LG 1-7/8 Super Pro headers and tuned by me.
I've also gutted most of the interior and removed some other non-essential parts to get the weight down to just over 2900lbs.

thanks for the info sir also do you know what the car weighed officially ??? I know what the car review specs said something like 3200lbs also do you have a preference on CAI ?? and I was thinking of running those brake cooler ducts but angling up towards the air filter for more of a ram air effect for maybe a touch more power on the top end is it worth the try or for nothing in your opinion? again thanks for any info you provide

I think it was originally 3200lbs and change, or something close to that.
I'm just running the stock air intake, but with an Attack Blue element and Vette Air scoop. I previously ran it with nothing more than a cut shroud and saw almost the same results.

Yeah I don't see how these aftermarket intakes actually can make more power than the stock stuff. Have you gone to a custom battery? I'm going to make lithium cell based battery for mine with a buddy (when the time and funds align)
I'm really impressed you got it so light. I don't even see where you got all that weight out of

The interior was over 150lbs, the front Strange brakes saved me quite a bit and I was running straight pipes at the time. I also removed the AC compressor and condenser and even took out the washer fluid reservoir.

Thanks for the info. Not thankful you're making me want to strip my clean street car
