I JUST bought a 2005 (12k original miles) Corvette from Corvette World Houston (reputable place). Luckily, I got the 3 year warranty, so I’m not too upset. However, please help if you can as I’d like to fix it before having it towed tomorrow back to Corvette World. The green light/start button is lit.
here’s the issue: The car will not start. Nothing on the dash has any display or light...but the interior and headlights work. I tried the fob in the glove compartment thing to see if it’s fob, changed battery in both fobs, but it seems like it’s more car (electrical/fuse) or anti theft related.... any insight is appreciated!!
could I have disabled my car somehow - it does have anti-theft, so did I do something??
Sounds like the "leave it parked in reverse or the battery will go dead overnight" issue with '05 models. Corvette World should be familiar with it, give them a call.

It’s an automatic! They do have the vehicle and I got an update today. They said they got it started and it will turn off and on and drive (i should’ve asked HOW they got it started 🙄...I’ll call back tomorrow). Anyway, they said it was hooked up to laptops to figure out WHY that happened to me!
Best guess, when someone calibrate the brake pedal sensor, someone ended up gorilla smashing the pedal down hard, and for the car to start, you would have to mash the brake pedal down just as hard. So the quick kill two birds with one stone, replace the brake pedal senor, and when the new sensor is programmed in with a tech II for it pressed downward position, don't mash the hell out of the brake pedal.
The next thing that comes to mind, is on the front of the gear shiftier lever in the assembly, there is a micro switch that reads when the lever is in park. The lever on the arm can bend inward, or the switch can become corroded, and can cause the no start problem when the it can not see the transmission in park. In causes like this, if you push the shiftier lever forward towards the dash to activate the micro switch so the car can see its in park, will allow the car to start before you deal with the switch,
The last thing is if the car sits for more than a few days off a battery tender (say in the dealers parking lot), it will start to drain down the battery from the electronics on the car even in sleep mode. A deep enough drain of the battery will dam near kill it, so general rule when buying a C6 off a dealer since they may have had to jump the battery to get is started to begin with before you test drove it/sate in the parking lot for a long periods off a battery tender, have them replace the battery with a new one when you buy it.
