We just purchased a 2008 ZHZ, with 52000 miles. when we go over bumps in the road, well almost anywhere, it squeaks. Soooo embarrassing!
Mechanic does not think it is the bushings. He thinks it is the rear shocks.
If it is the shocks, what are your recommendations?
Thank you....

Regardless of what the mechanic has told you, simplest & least expensive DIY is to get a can of DW40 with an extension (the little red straw) & lubricate all the bushings. If that doesn't work, try bouncing on each fender & have a helper listen for the noise. If it is indeed the shocks, nothing wrong with AC Delco's for normal street driving.
Id lube one thing at a time then see if it squeeks. If it does lube the next (I'd start on swaybar endlinks). On any of my vehicles that had squeeks over bumps it was always the endlinks.

I agree with the above , endlinks will squeek ... Shoot some spray lube into the joints on the end links and then run over some bumps , the lube should last long enough to see if thats the problem ....WW

I had the same and it was the exhaust hangers. A little grease and all is good. Grab hold of the tail pipes and shake them. You should be able to duplicate the squeak.

WD40 on bushings, exhaust hangers.... yes. You can test sway bar end links by grabbing the end of the sway bar, with a strong grip and wrist, and try to move that sucker with the wheels on the ground. This may just reveal worn end links by either clunks, pops, rattles, or squeaks. Another notorious place for squeaks is from the sway bar insulators, which will go bad as the end links wear.

It is a plastic car and you want to bounce on the fender. Not a good idea at all !

WD40 is not a lubricant. It's good to start with to clean things off, but I would follow up with some spray oil or grease.

Yup, me too this. A little clarification, on the x-pipe about center of the car there sre 2 little springs to help hold the pipe, mine squeek and I need to remove them.
