I know how much everybody loves beating a dead horse so what’s the latest opinions on TPS headers? I’ve had Kooks before which were great but for $1000 less it’s hard to ignore TPS. Car is a 2010 Grand Sport manual that they will be going on.

I tend to look at the price of performance mods directly related to power improvement that shows up on a 1/4 mile timeslip. When you are bone stock a $2 propped shroud mod can easily make a .15 second difference, but the price per .10 second escalates rapidly with each additional mod. I'd highly doubt that swapping from TPS headers to Kooks would produce a .10 second difference at any stage of mods. So the question becomes: How important is it to you to gain the last .10 of a second?
A more simplistic approach is dollars per horsepower, assuming you can trust dyno numbers and/or advertised numbers. As a ballpark number, swapping to Z06 exhaust manifolds and mid-pipe produces around 15 hp for $200-400, while the high end headers gain 25 hp for $1500-1700.
There are valid reasons to do mods, just like reasons to own a particular car. They all point back to the individual's desires for happiness.
One thing to consider is that the texas speed headers only offer an off road option, meaning not catalytic converters. I have only heard good things about the quality though.

Wow thank you for the reply that almost philosophical lol. The cost per hp is a very good point with the headers. Not as worried as much about the horse power differences as I am about fitment issues and the slip joints leaking vs the ball and socket that’s on the more expensive ones.

Yea that’s why I’m considering tps. The no cats is something I’ve done before but it’s just a hassle everytime inspection comes around so going with cats this time. Also the Texas speed seem to have ground clearance issues which on a Corvette I can’t see how anybody is willing to give any up as low as they are to begin with.
Damn, Everybody gets TSP and TPS mixed up. Texas speed is TSP. Total Performance is TPS. I purshased and installed TPS coated headers with cats. Then had cats and x-pipe coated. Love them, easy to install and they look and fit great! I do recomend them. Would ARH or Kooks give me 5-8 more HP? Maybe?

Went ahead and went for ARH. The tps might be pretty good but didn't want to risk any fitment issues and the ball and socket seems a lot easier.
