Header gasket ?
I meed help selecting correct gasket for my header install. I have a set of 2008 Lg super pro 1 7/8 headers i am putting on my 2007 ls2 base. The headers have d shape ports, when i look up port shape on my heads they say d shape, but when i look up parts they have round ports for the gaskets. Gm part number 12617944. Are these the correct gaskets to use? Thank you for any help I would appreciate it.

When you pull the manifolds, you can see the circular patch of soot left behind around the D-shaped port.

I can't think of any reason not to use the stock GM exhaust manifold gaskets. Yes they have round ports and the heads D shaped, but the headers are round and they both seal and last better than anything else out there. GM doesn't get everything right but the exhaust gaskets seem to be pretty good.
