Well, 2 steps forward, one step back. Got the remote bleeder tightened up and now my clutch engages and disengages, but a test drive around the neighborhood revealed that
A) I cannot get my new MGW shifter into the reverse gate so I'm gonna check the lockout solenoid fuse. 1-4 are perfect. I can get into 5 and 6 but haven't tried them while moving because
B) I have a brake fluid leak at the rear of the vehicle. I suspect it to be the hardline union on the driver side. I disconnected that union to drop the rear cradle. Perhaps I didn't tighten it enough when putting the car back together.
Also I checked the fuse for the reverse lockout and it looks good. Maybe I missed reconnecting the reverse lockout solenoid, but I thought I hooked up all the connectors to the transmission.
My next steps are checking the wires to the transmission and the shifter alignment, but I would think if the shifter was misaligned, I wouldn't be able to get into the other 6 gears. It just seems that the reverse lockout is the issue as I cant get into the gate. I haven't tried to force it in.
SWAG 2, You have an '05 if I recall, if so you have 2 reverse sensors on the transmission. Make sure connections are both firmly attached.
I have an 08 so Tr6060.

BTW: If the MGW shifter is removed you can shift the transmission with a small wooden stick. I use the wood handle part of my small ball peen hammer.
It was in neutral when I aligned it. It's currently in neutral now so I may try re-aligning. That's a good idea with the stick/hammer. If it was misaligned though, wouldn't I have a problem with more than just reverse? Wouldn't I have any issue with other gears as well?
Figured it out!
I didn't plug in the reverse lockout at all. Works fine now! Brake Union was loose. Tightened it up, no more leak! Took her for a spin and all is well!
