Default Headers and Supercharger

I know this is an old topic and I have to ask your opinions and suggestions. I had installed a V3Si Trim on my 2013 GS last Spring and the car’s performance has been nothing but Amazing. And I mean Amazingly Fast! Now winter is here and I have been thinking of adding a set of long tube headers and Xpipe. But, will the headers increase under hood heat as opposed to the cast iron stock exhaust manifold? Mind you, the car is making 600+ whp on stock engine. I’m sure the headers will free up more hp, no doubt. Please give me pros and cons if any. Much appreciated, thank you.

Does ceramic coating really help with the under hood heat?

From my understanding it does. I didn’t get it at the time I did LG’s about ten years ago and now wished I had. Ended up cooking my A6 trans and I’m sure that was in part due to the right side header being about a 1/4” from my trans cooling lines.

Pros: You will gain about 20rwhp and the car will sound much better.
Cons: If you don't have an exhaust where you can close the valves it might be too loud.

Thanks for the suggestions.
The car has the stock NPP exhaust which I like very much with the M2W switch. Another question comes to mind is if the car is not raced or tracked, which size primaries 1 7/8” or 1 3/4”? I’m looking at Kooks headers and they seem to offer both. Thanks in advance.🙏

With it being Supercharged go with 1 7/8" or 2". Don't do the 1 3/4 being forced inducted, you'll be choking it.

1 7/8's would be appropriate.

I think headers with catted mid-pipes on the NPP exhaust are the best combo. Quiet when you want it. Race-car loud when you activate the M2W.

Also, as far as heat, there will be more under hood heat so getting the headers ceramic coated or heat wrapping is a good idea. I actually prefer to wrap headers with a lava rock based header wrap. It is time consuming to do this but I find it cuts down on heat better than ceramic coating and is cheaper. Ceramic coating does look better but I care more about functionality under then hood than looks.

Another question that’s been beaten to death....Cats or No Cats? And by not running Cats, will that dissipate heat some?
