Is there any upgrades you can do to the trans without pulling it. Like the 4l60e you could do a boost valve and stuff by pulling the pan. Just curious.

What year trans are you asking about? Basically, the later it is, the better. GM has made a number of changes and upgrades over the years to address issues like “flaring” and clunking on shifts, etc. For example, circa 2010 GM upgraded the front pump cover to improve the seal design. Sonnax also offers a bunch of valve body parts and kits to address different issues. If you take a look on PATCs website you’ll see a number of those kits, valves, springs, etc.
However, if your trans doesn’t have any overt issues like flaring, then those things may be a waste of time. The best thing you can do for any 6L80 is get a proper tune from someone who has a proven track record tuning these transmissions. Best guy on here to contact about anything on these transmissions would be CF member subfloor. He’s been racing and pushing these transmissions past their supposed limits for years.
Any recommendations that have a proven track record?
A Yank pas 3400 stall and tune is only mod I recommend these trannies are great and the list you mess with them the better but they don’t seem to like loose converters in my experience mine is a full 1200 hp build but would not do it again as is unnecessary.
