Default Idler pulleys, the same or different

I'm going to change both idler pulleys on my 2005 Corvette C6 (LS2).
I was wondering, are both the same pulleys, the one for the AC and the accessory belt.

Thanks,

Fred

the upper and lower tensioner pulleys are the same, but the idler pulley is different than the two tensioner pulleys.

As for changing them, if under 30K since new, should only need to be re-greased.
If higher mileage and where not re-greased before say 50K, then replace the pulleys with new bearings. Hell, unless you can find a deal on just the two tension pulleys, often just as cheap to buy the entire belt tenisions to begin with. As for the center idler pulley, since it has a pair of bearing paired front and back, it can be re-greased if caught in time, but not of the time you just want to replace it with a new idler pulley (again, center one is the idler, while the two other are tensioner pulleys).

And lets get back to point one, and that is GM does not put a lot of grease in the pulley bearings to begin with (why they go dry so fast), so may as well pull the new bearing shields from the start to add more grease to the bearings to begin with.

I regreased my tensioner pulleys when I changed my water pump at 30K miles. i now have over 110K miles on the same pulleys, and no issues,

Mine has done nearly 100.000 miles so I want to change both pulleys. So both are different, does anyone have the part numbers by any chance ?

LS2 has only one idler pulley, but does have two tensioners with pulleys. Here's a diagram with part numbers, vendor contact info., and prices. The idler pulley is #6, highlighted at the bottom. hope this helps.

Dayco carries just the pulley with bearing to replace it on the tensioner.

http://www.daycoproducts.com/stuff/c...lley_guide.pdf

The glitch, with the 100K on the entire tensioner, the tension spring is about shot, so by the time you replace the pulley and the spring (harder to find), your cheaper to just replace the entire tensioners instead.

I did not know that there is only one idler pulley for the accessory belt and that the AC belt only has a tensioner, you learn something new every day. I will order one idler pulley and a new tensioner for the AC belt.

Thanks everyone for their input, much appreciated !!

Fred

PS my accessory belt has a Katech tensioner so I don't need a new tensioner for that
