Default Fuel Injector Install

Hey Everyone,

Having some misfiring issues on my 2009 base due to some old injectors so its time to switch them out. I usually preform any kind of basic maintenance work that doesn't require more than a day. In this spirit I want to change the fuel injectors but don't know how to do so and any you tube videos I find are very inadequate with the information they give. Anyone have any step by step with pictures or link to a video? Thanks in advance for the help!

How did you verify that indeed the injectors were causing your misfires ????...there are MANY things that can cause a misfire...did you verify the fuel injector circuit integrity first...these things need a power and a ground to work !!...what about ignition or anything “mechanical” ???

changed plugs, coils, plug wires, did a compression test on cylinders, checked lifters and springs, checked the injector fuses , as far as whats visible on the injector wires everything seems like its got good contact. So the only think left is to change the injectors I believe...

Weirdly enough I only get misfires at idle, never when I'm driving.

you will need the tool to disconnect the fuel line. you will need to replace with same sized injectors, can't go bigger without a tune.

Are you getting the code for a misfire that indicates which cylinder is actually misfiring? The LS3 has a bit of a lumpy idle and can sound like a misfire, but it's just normal idle characteristics.

Now these misfires...were you getting a flashing CEL ??...do you actually feel a misfire or just the CEL ??...if you can get a hold of a scan tool you can see what you have...you can do a resistance check of the injectors if you have a DVOM...I don’t know the numbers for the C6’s so maybe someone can chime in...it can still be mechanical EVEN THOUGH you have good compression...I’ve started using “in cylinder” pressure analysis and it nails down most mechanical issues...I can recommend someone in Melbourne who is one of the most knowledgeable diagnostic guys out there...his name is Brin Kline and he runs Assured Auto Works...he is an instructor and his group of fellow troubleshooters has a YouTube channel called Trained by Techs...I enclosed one of his vids below...this may help you from chasing your tail with misfires !!
