Good morning guys and gals. I wanted to ask is it possible to run E85 in a stock ls2 without doing any damage? I just bought the car and everything appears stuck. The case is under warranty so I do not want to void that just yet but would love a bit more power... any help or advice is appreciated, thank you.
Not possible. Car is not a "Flex-fuel" car from factory. You will need to add a flex sensor, possibly larger injectors and have a tune done.
Also, rumor is the stock internal fuel pump usually don't last long on e85. Not even sure if the ls2 pump would flow enough for e85 either? Ls3 cars have a larger pump vs ls2 cars.
That’s what I thought but wanted to make sure. This is my first Vette and was hoping to add some cheap extra power but guess I’ll have to find that somewhere else. I appreciate you taking the time to give me some help on it.
You put E in the tank drive it but no extra power till is tuned sense E used more volume if your car is stock you may be able to tune on stock pump and and injectors but your best bet is headers imo.
How can E85 fuel give you more power? It will give you worse mileage due to the additional alcohol, but on a non-modified engine, how is more power achieved?

More timing. Only amounts to 10 maybe 20hp at stock compression levels. With a tune and flex fuel sensor it’s possible but likely the fuel pump won’t hold up long so would need that too. Not free power.

Yes good looking out, I’m aware I’d have to get a tune. I just wasn’t sure if the stock components would hold up. The car when I bought it had exhaust and cold air kit on it but as far as I can tell nothing more. I have looked at headers but they are a bit pricey and bring that we just bought the car I would prefer to hold off a bit before draining more of the savings.
