Hey guys, I was driving my car around tonight and ran into this error and was not sure if this is a sign of something going bad, a common glitch, or a once in a lifetime mishap. Here is what happened:
- I turned car off after driving and the car said no fobs detected, run yea or no? I assumed I held the kill switch too long and it tried going into accessory mode when I was already getting out of the car so I thought nothing of it so left and the car locked as it's programmed to do.
- I got back to my car and it would not unlock, alarm or anything. My friend and I started took our fobs apart and swapped batteries (Luckily they were the same sized battery).
- Still nothing with changed battery so we drive my my place to get the 2nd fob and key to unlock it.
- Still nothing with the second fob but I got into the car, tried to start it, and it said no fob detected.
- I got my small socket set out of the trunk, disconnect the battery for a moment, reconnected it and the car still wouldn't detect the fobs (I let the door shut by mistake so the car alarm actually started going off when I got in this time so I unplugged/reconnect the battery again).
- Called AAA, got the car towed to the dealership (still having this issue)
- Went to start backing the car off the truck and of course, the fobs were working again without issue.
- I restarted the car a few times before driving it home and restarting it a couple more times, no issue.
What do you guys think? Is the RCDLR module or some other module going back or just a strange glitch that rarely happens? The car has 68,000 miles on it.

Did you know about the key fob slot in your glove box? You can generally get the car to run by inserting the fob (buttons facing the passenger side, key chain out) into the fob slot.
I know that isn't a direct answer to your question, but you can stay mobile while you sort out the issue.
Ran into similar with my C7 the past few weeks. Drive it to work, no issues. Drive it home, no issue. Drive to gym, no issue. Try to go home from gym, trouble. Car would no unlock. The first time I managed to get in through the hatch mechanical key. FOB would not recognize, but I put it in the slot in the column and could start car. A week later, it was rinse and repeat, but this time at gym, I tried pushing unlock many times moving the fob around top of windshield and it eventually unlocked. Week later, and again the same thing. Im starting to think there is some kind of radio interference that started up recently at that location.
