door module is acting up if I replace it is it coded to the car or not
What do you mean by "door module". Do you mean one of the door switches? If so, they are inexpensive & easy to replace. If you mean the automatic door lock release mechanism, then you should initially consider replacing the fob battery.....or if you mean the interior door switch, that also can be replaced. Need more specifics in order to help you.
If a door control module is replaced or disconnected from its harness you will need to re-index that window, same as when the battery is disconnected. Otherwise, no programming is required for a new module.
Assuming you mean the solenoid door latch, it's purely electrical/mechanical, not electronic. No need to replace the cables either, since it's much easier to disconnect and reconnect the OEM cables after you access the latch.
ok guys here is the story I hit the inside door switch the red led flashes as i hit the switch but window does not move and door will not open i roll window down and pull on outside pad door opens i presume the culprit was a door control module that makes window move and opens the door
now what do u think guys
That's a little different. I'm going to guess the problem lies with the inside switch and/or its wiring since the solenoid latch, the outside switch, and the door control module all seem to be working.
The interior door switch is a dual pole switch with one contact going to the door module and one going to the RCDLR.
Do you have the ability to measure voltages?
If so, let's start here:
remove the interior switch but leave the electrical connection plugged in.
Close the door
use your multi meter in DC voltage mode with one lead on ground the other lead to the orange wire
you should read the pull up voltage (I am guessing 12 volts)
press the door open switch, this signal should now be grounded reading 0 CDC or close to it.
Put your meter lead on the brown wire and do the same test.
Again this is a digital input signal being pulled up through a pull up resistor and should go to 0 vdc or close to it when the door button is pushed.
Do we have the pull up voltages? What voltage did you measure?
What is the voltage with the button pressed?
We may have a few issues here since the brown wire goes the the door module which does the indicator and window index. You said the indicator comes on but the window does not index.
The Orange wire goes to the RCDLR and communicates to the BCM to allow power to the door latch motors.
I hit the inside door switch the red led flashes as i hit the switch but window does not move and door will not open
it does not do this all the time
Is your engine off? FWIW, this is what happens when you try to open the door with the ignition ON. Have you tried hitting the UNLOCK switch to see what happens?
