NPP mufflers from a 2008 is a direct bolt on, you will need to run a vacuum source though. This is my 2006, since the video I've added Kooks LTs w/HF Cats.
My advice would be to go to a corvette get together and go for a ride with different systems on them. It is a very personal preference decision to make.
Auto vs. Manual is also a factor. (A small amount of drone can be easily dealt with in a manual by selecting a different gear.)
There really is only two brands to choose from if you want sound and no drone and no need for NPP.
Borla and Corsa
I have tried many exhaust systems and these are the only loud systems that do not drone. (That is with shorty or factory manifolds, I live in Cali and could not be bothered with removing headers every two years to smog a car.) But again, this is my opinion, yours may be totally different.
Wait for this craziness of Covid 19 to be over and get some seat time in some C6s to make a choice you know you will be happy with. (These systems are not really cheap.)
I love the sound of Ford V8s. Corvettes should sound as good.
As far as Ford Mustang V8's, they certainly have a distinctive sound, diff than LS cars, I believe it has to do with the engine config and firing order..
LS cars 'wake up' after an xpipe, which none of them have stock!
