I’m interested in thoughts on my dyno plot. Seems like the power tapers off up top. Mods:
MF103
MSD intake
AHP Package 4 heads, milled .020, ported
BB fusion exhaust, stock headers and mid pipe
Problem is the room under the hood, which does not have enough for a needed intake manifold volume to get the engine to breath all the way to 7K redline.
Cam will get the motor to breath better at mid rpms to gain you more power there, but is not going to solve the upper RPM breathing problem instead.
Bluntly, if you trying to deal with the dip in HP after 6K, then it going to require either a hole in the hood to get the needed better flowing intake room, or just going to a super charger that will force feed air to get the engine to breath correctly after 6K (plus pick up power on the bottom and mid rpms as well).
To add, the breathing problem at above 6k has been solved with the SB4 motor (built on a LS7 block and producing 750HP). So SB4 solution, 2 TB's with better lower profile intake, and improved OHC heads with 4 valves per cylinder. https://images-na.ssl-images-amazon....OZteL._AC_.jpg
The glitch, is the SB4 is a $40K motor, while supercharging the stock LS7 to do the same is less than $10K instead.
Looks like decent numbers for stock cam, but you have a lot on the table, that's the same numbers some Z's get with headers and boltons only..
Even the stock cam shouldn't drop like that up top - something is wrong. *Might* have something to do with the A/F ratio going rich up high, or other potential prob.
