Well, I tried to squeeze the Dorman intake into an 05 LS2. No bueno. It didn’t want to fit at all all. Had firewall clearance issue. I contacted Dorman to see what gives, the instructed me to grind off the rear map sensor mounting boss. I did that and still had troubles. The rear brake booster vacuum port hit the fire wall as well. I said to heck with it. I’m not cutting up my fire wall. I will be returning in the morning. Anyone else experienced anything similar with that?
The dorman does flow better then the stock LS2, This was an issue with the early FAST manifolds thats why I never bought one, had to really cut the cowl. in fact there was a little kit for it. But the new FAST for the LS2 fits right in.
Yeah. I was trying to snag some ponies cheap. I could not get it to fit. Modified the intake and tried like heck. I could force it in but that just didn’t feel/seem right. Plus it’d be rubbing etc. The only thing I could think of was cutting the cowl, which I wanted no part of. Not worth that.
I returned the intake, luckily I had email communication back and forth with Dorman tech support telling me to modify it and I can still return if it doesn’t work. I ultimately returned it. I just can’t come off 900 bucks for an FAST intake lol.
