Does the door open when pressing the inside door button when sitting in the car? If not, the problem may be the door latch mechanism, harness connection or wiring.
I have the same problem. It is intermittent sometimes it works ok. Changed key fob batteries seemed to work then failed again in a week. Sometimes unlocking with the fob pushbutton works. Sometimes locking & then unlocking with the fob pushbuttons works.
Window moves and door lock energizes yet no access. This problem was previously restricted to the driver’s door but has now been happening with the passenger door. Trying to find a Chevy service bulletin.
Leaning towards latch, make sure you replace with the correct one when replacing mine I found out All the online retailers had the incorrect part number for the part with keyless locking
He said it wont open.using the inside button, so it's not the touch pad. I agree with it being the latch...WW
Not true... if the pad is making contact, it will prevent the inside from opperating. I had the same issue and had to roll my window down to open the door. I first cleaned the contacts of the original...that worked better however still had the same issue just not as frequently. Then I bought a new pad and have not had an issue since.

I replaced the touch pad and it worked right away but had then I one occasion when the door failed to unlatch though, so still not 100% but definitely an improvement!
I certainly appreciate all the advice, thinking maybe a new latch is in my future, but I have sadly resigned myself to manual door unlatching when need be.
Cheers,
Stewie
The first action I would take is to switch the touch pad with the passenger side one. If the door will still not open it is likely your latch causing the issue. I am suspecting it is a bad latch

Thanks that seems to be the consensus. Curious that it still works on occasion one day then not the next. My car has two names now - Kristina when she’s a sweetheart, Christine (remember the movie) when she’s a bitch!
