Iv never owned an LS car before.
Had the oil changed on my supercharged wet sump 07 base C6.
I dunno how much oil they put in it but from reading the dip stick is it overfull?
Or normal?

Thanks

Ive never seen my LS3 that high, so I would say that its a quart over. With that being said, I always change my own oil, so I know when I put in 6 quarts. Are you sure that they changed the filter??

FWIW...Harbor Freight stores sell an inexpensive "oil suction" tool (for lack of better description)
Insert tube down dip stick tube to remove oil.
As mentioned above you could also change the oil filter, lose a 1/2 quart, and recheck the oil level.

Yes looks over full.
Assuming the correct procedure to check the oil level from the owner's manual was followed.

My 2 cent comments and good luck.

Yea, my view is that's a bit too much.

Sloppy work. I'd return the car to the shop and have them adjust the level. And I'd watch them do it.

I provided the oil filter and marked the mileage on it. Its there.
The car sat overnight, oil was cold when I checked it.
I wiped the stick clean and rechecked a few times.
Did I do it right?

Thanks for the replies.

You have no idea how shoddy the work was. To repair the TOC line they cut the line and clamped on a rubber rose. It leaked badly spraying 2 qts of trans oil under the car and all over the back of the car. They banged up the PS cooler perty good too. Control arm bushings are drenched. Huge mess.
It use to be a very clean car.
This LS shop has been in business for many years and has a great rep which is why I drove over an hr to take it there.
They gave me all kinds of apologies which aint worth jack and tomorro an enclosed trailer is supposed to be coming to get it. Theyr gonna install the factory part# line.
Theres alot of damage.
