software or short?
05 has good battery and alternator .
Problem: Dead... loss of power until I boost battery for just a minute not more. Heads up display has not worked in 4 years but now comes on but radio dead. Turned car off and when restarted radio on Heads up display not on. Has done this twice. What is problem?

Put Tech II on the car to pull DTC body codes (basic scanner will not get to that level of the car), and would start with just disconneting the battery for about 15 to allow the modules to fully discharge, then reconnect the battery to re hard set all the modules.
Short of that, need voltages of the alternator (it body as the ground and postive from it back terminal under the rubber boot), at the battery, engine fuse block terminal to alternator as the ground point, and voltage that the DIC is giving, . all while the motor is just idling at start up, with the lights and A/C off.
Short bus, alternator should be putting out 14.7v DC, battery at 14.5v, engine fuse block terminal post positive/ alternator body ground 14.5v, and DIc should be reading 14.1~14.3. Where the voltage is low, will tell me where the problem is that needs to be resolved.
P.S,. I'm in Denver currently, so push comes to shove, we can hook up if needed to get the car squared away, Hence I have a tech II, which makes trouble shooting a snap to start with.
