Fans a running even after shut off guessing that’s normal, just changed the thermostat so that’s not the issue main issue I’m having is the coolant won’t leave the reservoir I tried opening the cap and Revving the engine to 3k RPM...but nothing could it be my water pump ?
Did you by any chance recently change the coolant? If you did, it might be air locked
no I didn’t even remove it it seemed like that was the issue before I changed the thermostat I just figured since the temp was going so high and coolant wasn’t moving I needed to change thermostat now I’m thinking it’s the pump since it doesn’t want to go down from the reservoir
Fans running after shutdown is normal. How high is coolant temp going? Possible you installed a bad thermo.
the temp goes well over 220 I don’t think so, only because the coolant is just sitting the reservoir and it just keeps saying to add coolant I’m just thinking it’s the pump
220 isn't all that hot. That said, if no coolant is moving, it's either the water pump, or a total blockage of the system. There's an easy but dumb way to check what's happening. Let the coolant get really hot, then open the overflow cap. If steam comes out and it's really hot and you get burned, everything is fine. If it opens easily, no steam comes out, and the coolant is more or less ambient temperature, you're not moving any coolant.

well the temp will easily go 220 to 260, I just don’t let it I turn it off because the temp keeps climbing and like I said I don’t see any leaving the reservoir at allí can see it. I’ll double check the way you said even tho like you said it’s dumb way I just really think it’s the pump
How did you change the thermostat without draining some coolant?
Airbound seems like a good possibility.
well some did pour out when I was changing there for I bought more coolant to replace but reservoir is full and it doesn’t seem like it’s going in to the motor and through the water pump it just sits
Open coolant cap, turn inside temperature dials all the way up to 90 with fan on high. Run car until it gets 220 or so. This should remove any air in the system. Report results. Run for around ten minutes.

Just to add: Do this when engine is cold and keep revs around 1700 rpm for about 5 minutes watching your temperature gauge and coolant level. This will help "burp" trapped air in the coolant system.
