The OBX aren't like that.Great price, perfect fitment, beautiful welds and no issues with them in 10 years
Most OBX parts are direct copies of other (typically higher end American made) systems. So yeah, they tend to fit a bit better, but also cost a bit more I would call OBX just under middle of the road. If you're ok with knowing you're buying a ripoff of (typically) an American company's design and r&d, they're not a bad choice.
Im also in the same boat and in the market for headers. trying to consider cost of intake + Headers+ tune+ install.. considering tune and install will be at least 750 combined(minimum in my opinion).. I don’t really want to spend 1500+ on a set of headers and X-Pipe. From my research Texas speed might hang too low for me, speed engineering seems to be mixed reviews. OBX is about 1k if I’m not mistaken, Hinson seems to be out of stock. I almost wonder if it’s worth taking a gamble on the speed engineering, and buying OEM gaskets and better clamps from the hardware store. Even if you have to do some welding and throw in the cost of that, it’s still much cheaper than the popular headers. that way you can still be tuned and installed for under what a set of kooks/ARH might run you just in parts.
Or a budget friendly option might be OEM zo6 manifolds and exhaust and catless.

I have the Hinson headers, came matte black ceramic coated, fit perfectly with zero modifications to them. If I had it to do over I’d pick the Hinson’s again, every time. I talked to Hinson when I was putting them on and they explained how to heat cycle them for the ceramic coating, I followed their instructions and they turned out perfect! With the money I saved over any of the big names I also got these really cool black spark plug wire heat sleeves, a new set of black plug wires and the Vararam cold air intake. Since I bought headers only and not their midpipe I also had enough cash left over to have the custom exhaust work done at my local exhaust shop. Still had money left over to take the family out for a nice dinner. It looks so sleek under my hood, like it should’ve came that way from GM. No regrets at all.
Excuse the oil on them, we were doing some valvetrain work

The OBX catted stainless system's are as good as anything out there and welded inside and out unlike a lot of the over priced U.S. systems that leak. They also make as much power as any other system and are not a copy of anything. For $800. delivered you can't go wrong.I was able to buy a new $1,100 ported Fast 102 with the money I saved purchasing the OBX system

Thank you for this, I haven't heard a ton about them but can obviously see the value. They're sold out now so I guess it's a waiting game now. Love the setup, looks great!
I just waited for a deal on some used American racing headers and catted X-pipe, grabbed a set for $900. Install was wayyy easier than on my old CTS-V, great clearance. everything fit perfectly. thats what i would recommend if you want the quality parts on a budget, find someone Demodding to sell or trade in.
