This is a plastic bracket that mounts on the frame across from cyl. #8. It just slips on the frame without any bolts or retainers. Looks like it might be for holding modules or connectors out if the way.
I have better pics but they wont upload today.
The car is an 07 base auto trans.
Any ideas?
I have the same plastic shield which hooks on to the frame. Mine looks a bit different from the one you are holding. My 2006 Z51 Auto has nothing in it, no wires, no modules etc.
It doesn't show up in any of my detailed parts diagrams for either the frame, or the engine compartment.
Maybe Manual owners will chime in. Wonder if they have anything in it or attached to it.
I didn't take it off. Does that piece have any numbers on it to indicate a possible part #
I looked up the number and found it in my GM parts catalogue and it is listed as Shield Engine Wiring Harness Heat
I'm wondering if this is supposed to somewhat shield heat from the AC lines going to the cabin?
