I installed my new battery and started the car and the first thing I noticed was the HVAC blinking. I disconneted the battery and my disconnect switch arrived today so now I'm going to wait for my Grandson to come over and watch the meter for me while I pull fuses. Do you think I should also check the fuses in the engine compartment.?

This might helpThe 'BATT5' fuse is the main 30 amp fuse for:
1. Body Control Module (BCM)
2. Tele Sw / Mem Seat Module
3. Driv Dr Sw
4. Ign Sw / Intr Sens
5. OnStar
6. TPA Fuses
Each of these 6 items also have there own separate fuses.
So, if I pull the BATT5 fuse and the amps go all the way down to .007 amps, it has to be a problem with one of those 6 electrical circuits.
So, I first pulled the TPA Fuse (passenger side foot well area) ... no change in the amp load at all.
Right in the same area is the OnStar fuse ... I pulled it and the amps went from .463 amps, all the way down to .007 amps.
I don't pay OnStar anymore, so I am just leaving the OnStar 10 amp fuse pulled.
