Driver side window regulator reassembly
Good Luck
If you do figure it out, make it a thread with pics for others to learn from.
Thanks
I got this thing figured out and took pics so that the next guy could at least use this as a reference. Remember my regulator is from the driver's side. I imagine the orientation for the passenger side might be a mirror image.
Let us begin after the removal of the regulator since there are a few video out there that explain that in detail.
1. Lay out your regulator and try to keep as much of it intact to use as a reference for reassembly.
2. Be sure to notate the orientation of the motor and it's mounting bracket. Incorrect orientation will result in the inability to reinstall the mount to the three mounting holes in the door.
3. Use a sharpy to make marks on the bracket and plastic mounting plate to ensure proper re-orientation
4. Run the new repair kit cabling along the regulator rails and out at 90* using the plastic guide wheels. The wheels are designed in a way to always catch the cable and properly orient it simply by turning the guide wheel.
5. align the green plastic "stops" into each of the 4 corners of the rails
6.As this is the driver's side, ensure that the cable with the rubber sheath around it is along the bottom going from the bottom right and into the motor housing from the bottom right.
7. The cables along each regulator rail will have a small metal block that will be used as a guide for the window mounts. Place the cable and block carefully in the hole of both window mounts.
8. Attach the window mount to the rails by placing the edge of the rail inside the green mounting tabs on the window mounts and ensure the correct orientation. The part with the rubber will be used to hold the window in place. Be sure this is facing up.
9. Pull the cables so that the window mounts are close to the middle of the rails.
10. The cable wheel has guide holes on it to accept the cable blocks that allow you to lock the cable in place while wrapping the excess around the wheel. The top left cable should be mounted first and will mount to the top of the wheel when the plastic plate is flipped on its back. The bottom right cable will mount to the other side of the wheel. the cables should cross close to each other but not touch in an "X"
11. Place the wheel and plastic plate on the motor using the correct orientation.
12. Place the bracket on top of the plastic plate and sure it with the T27 bolts.
