6l80E Quesitons
Not sure if this is in the correct place so please move if necessary but haven't found a definitive answer as I have looked in multiple places including here.
Burnt my trans on my 2010. I have found a trans from a 06-09 vette but have heard it will fit physically but as far as tuning/computer wise it will not work. Can anybody enlighten me on this? I have heard the TCM is different and it will not allow us to tune it correctly or work at all. TIA
PS. Sorry about thread title mispelling I tried to correct and it wont let me.

I believe you will need to have the dealer take a Tech 2 and load the cars VIN into the trans computer so that it can receive programming. Not sure of any of the difference from 06-09 trans to 2010, but I think the only one was programming, like rev matching I believe was added in 2008. If the actual transmissions are the same the computer from your 2010 could be put into the 06-09 trans and loading the VIN would not be needed. You would need to make sure there was no debris in the original computer.
