This morning, jumped in my DD and hit the start button. It cranked and cranked without starting. Turned it off and hit start button again. Started, then died. Third time, hit the button and it started but bkew a big cloud of white or gray smoke. Ran fine but I did notice oil pressure dropped when I stopped and increased when I started rolling again. At stop showing about 27 psi, about 44 on accelleration, and levelled off at 37 at cruising speed. Have had no issues prior to this. Any thoughts?

I'd verify fuel pressure is steady first considering it's simple to hook a gauge to the end of the fuel rail.
When my C6 was hard-starting and the occasional backfiring upon hot start-up I found the cam-sensor was bad.
I think it was a bad tank of gas. I had just filled up when it started. Next fill, added a bottle of fuel treatment, went to a different station, and have had no issues.
