Default Remove Active Handling or Get TPMS Sensors?

I have a second set of tire/wheels for track days without TPMS sensors. However, when I use them Active Handling (AH) kicks on whenever I take a corner at speed and applies the brakes (here is a good video what happens, posted by another forum member
).

There are numerous posts on this topic. I am debating between purchasing TPMS sensors for the tires/wheels or removing the AH sensor from the steering column that other forum members have done in the past (here is a more detailed post https://www.corvetteforum.com/forums...-defeated.html).

Does anyone have any experience with this issue? If so, how did you fix it? Has anyone removed the AH sensor? Good or bad results? I also know a few people that have purchased the LG Motorsports TrackBox TPMS Sensor eliminator box, but that's $389 while installing sensors for all four wheels is only $289.

Really appreciate the help!

If tracking the tpm's would be helpful if you have a pressure issue.

I purchased a track box and it worked for a while. Started having same problem of tpms coming on and having to disable active handling. I would check with LG and the manufacturer, think they told me it does not work over the long haul. Wast of money!

I don't quite understand why you need to make these choices, but I'd disable the AH. Just don't drive in the snow, lol.

TPMS brand new are about 160 per set and last a decade or more...(cheaper can be found but buyer beware)

I had the Right rear TPMS stop working and the same thing happens, the car automatically brakes on hard cornering. I knew it was the right rear because the tire pressure on the dash "Right Rear "XX". I needed new tires anyway so I got a new TPMS for about $80.00 from the dealer and had it installed with the new tires. Problem solved..

Good luck with however you fix the issue. The tires are not easy to change as I found out from local shops in the mountains of VT.

@jerho1943 Thank you! I'll give LG a call.

@C5 Hardtop See video above. Without addressing this issue, I cannot track the car with different size wheels or stickier tires

I saw the first part of the video with the invasive AH, but didn't understand how tire pressure monitoring would have any impact on it.

One more thing. I had to bring the car the the dealer after the tire place mounted the tire with the new TPMS. They had to "program" it to the car. I saw them do it and the cars horn honked as they programmed each tire. Just an extra step I had to do to have the system work.

Just disconnect the steering angle sensor.

@C5 Hardtop If you don't have TPMS sensors in your wheels (which I don't for my track wheels), then the car automatically kicks on AH too early and won't allow you to turn AH/TC off using the center console button. Thus, I would either have to buy additional TPMS sensors for all my track day wheels ($$), buy a LG Motorsports track day box ($$$), or pull the steering angle sensor from the steering wheel column (no cost).

I've pulled the sensor and am ready for VIR this weekend

That looks like almost exactly what I experienced last month at Portland.
My instructor had me switch to competitive mode. It helped a ton. I'm still slow, but it allowed more slip angle.
I was too chicken to turn everything off.
