I got all the stuff ordered and arrived to swap Z06 brakes on the back only of my Base 09. but talking to a friend do i need a lot more brake for a street sometimes strip car? What kind of times/trap speeds are some of you running on just BASE brakes?
Unless you're running a really hot car car you shouldn’t have a problem stopping as long as the tracks you run at have a normal shutdown area. FYI regarding brakes on cars the fronts do most of the work stopping the vehicle.
The Z06 fronts are quite a bit heavier the the Z51 and more so then the base. Front Z rotors and calipers won’t help the weight transfer you’ll be looking for. Think a ball park number thrown around is about 100 added lbs can cost a 1/10th second.
High 10's @ 125-127 with JL9 rotors and J55 rear calipers on O'Reilly's base ceramic pads. It's about the worst combo for stopping, but the best for going.
I can make the first turnoff if I'm in a hurry to get back to the staging lanes or the restroom.

I was only going to do the back but yes I agree. cant afford extra weight.
