Default C6 Base Steering Rack Fitting Help...

Does anyone know if the fitting under the harmonic balancer can be removed and replaced? There is no hex to grab it with a wrench. I am hoping I don't have to replace the whole rack for a stupid buggered up fitting.
Thanks is advance. If it matters 2008 Base, Z51

Looks like the fitting is a piece of the housing.

Looks like the threads are OK. Maybe adapter fitting of some type with thread sealer?

that is a JIC style fitting. If it meets with pressure, the sealing stuff you put on the threads will still leak, but not as badly. The tapered end seats inside a concave in the hose. Take Emory cloth and smooth any high spots from the taper. Hopefully that will help it seal.

Thanks to Mudpie1313 and google I now know what a JIC fitting is. I would definitely follow his advice. Let me add on a hydraulic fitting it is my understanding you should use Hydraulic Sealant on the threads, not Teflon tape.
