Why did you not remove the hood before taking out engine?

Ok but it just seems like a lot of extra work having that hood in the way. If it were me I would have tied it to the cherry picker and unbolted it. But you got it out that's all that matters. Good luck w/ the install!
I saw a video where a guy easily removed his hood by himself. Here's how he did it:
1. The hood is attached by two bolts on each side of the hood.
2. Loosen the upper bolts.
3. Remove the lower bolts. When the last lower bolt is removed, lower the hood on to the top of the engine by pivoting it on the upper bolts that you loosened in step 2.
4. Stand at the front of the car, remove the remaining two upper bolts, and lift the hood away from the car with one hand on each side of the hood. Easy peasy.
WOW Subflooor, just WOW. I'm exhausted just following the 45 steps. Great job on the write-up, thanks for taking the time. This is going to help many Corvette owners and mechanics for that matter. Keep up the good work.
