CAI does not pick up horsepower, but keeps you from loosing it, if the engine is taking in hot air to cause it to retard the spark instead. So on that note, make sure that the system you are going to install, it picking the air from outside the car, and not still from the engine bay area like the OEM system.
As for retune from OEM tune, it's not really the added Hp that makes a huge difference, but turning off torque management in the OEM tune that is holding back a lot of instant power from reaching the ground instead. Hence just turning off TM and running slick, will make a bigger difference then the added 40'ish horsepower your going to pick up and use on the back end of the strip after the launch (since launch is your biggest hurdle to start with, hence not blowing up the drive line out of the hole).
