If a good / well designed catch can can keep even 50% of all this oil out of the intake, it would be worth it to me to install one.
I do not find many big name brands that make that mark. Knock offs and no names usually worse. We run a pretty hard test.

My stock LS2 N/A benefitted from a catch can ( does that mean needed? I don't know) with the C.C I don't get near as much oil in the intake & the carbon is NOT as bad in the C.chambers.

Default LS3 catch can

I respectfully disagree... I have an 08 C6M and I installed a Mike Norris Motorsports catch can right after I bought the car with 14k miles.

It was only about $120 and it works great... I drive my car fairly aggressively with regular runs to 120+ mph.... and I empty the catch can about every 1500 miles. I get about 3 ounces of oil out of it each time. I like keeping this oil out of my intake... for the money a great mod !!!
I maintain my Vette meticulously, oil changes every 4K miles with Pennzoil Ultimate Platinum synthetic....

Id recommend a good quality oil catch can (like mine)to anyone who drives a high performance vehicle.

My brother has a 12 C6M and I installed one in his Vette too... he’s also happy with it and gets about the same amount as I do...

Just my humble opinion.

How do you like the ultimate Platinum I'm considering switching to it from Driven LS30

I think any good quality synthetic oil, CHANGED REGULARLY, will provide great engine protection. The Pennzoil Ultimate Platinum Synthetic placed 2nd behind Amsoil, and considering the huge price difference I use the Pennzoil for the Vette.

Agaun, my humble opinion... lots of opinions when it comes to oil usage!
