The last time I got an oil change the mechanic told me my oil pan on my Corvette was wet with oil, and he wiped it off. At the time I didn’t think much of it. The other day I pulled my car out of the garage and noticed 2 drops of oil on the garage floor.
I called my mechanic to set an appointment, and was surprised how complicated a procedure it was to remove the oil pan. The mechanic told me it was a 5 to 6 hour job to remove the oil pan, and put everything back together again. In addition he suggested I got an alignment.
I did some reading and read it’s a common problem on a 2007 Corvette. Several people said just to leave it alone, and some said to get it repaired.
I know I’m going to keep the car for along time, so I’m getting it repaired.
Have it inspected by him to ensure that it is the pan gasket and not the rear main seal or both - because that will add to the cost, but should be done!
Might think of doing a good Crank Balancer and front seal since the cradle will be lowered out of the way to get to the pan gasket - Fludampr or ATI are two that are top and I have used both and am currently using the ATI get a ARP crank bolt too, you'll be glad you did -
I just did the oil pan gasket and damper on my car. I don't think that having the cradle lowered really made much difference for the damper, I still had to move the rack out of the way. Maybe if you dropped the cradle completely it would make a noticeable difference. I would try torqueing the oil pan bolts first, if that doesn't fix it change the gasket. Treat the damper as a separate job
Well, Matt, that sounds like about like a $2k+ job.
$1000 per drop?
I think I'd check it out some more before going blindly ahead. It could be as simple as a loose bolt.
Also, how long after the oil change before you noticed the leak?
If just a few days, it could be from some spilled oil.

Well Sayfoo - I do appreciate you commenting on my comments - you will notice that instead of "Blindly" moving ahead the first thing I suggested for the OP was to have it "Inspected", especially since he is seeking his mechanics input -
I know just how much it cost to repair our Vettes, and as you said it could very well be a simple loose or perhaps even a missing bolt, but from years of experience and on these Vette's it often turns out to be more than a simple retorque of the bolts.
And there is nothing wrong with suggesting that while you are this involved another thing to consider would be to address another sore spot on that GM put on as a poor piece of equipment - the Balancer
OP we never got how many miles you have on your Vette?

Yep. A few drops of oil which is maybe a half quart every 3000 miles (or less) I would not worry about it until it got worse. I would torque the oil pan bolts it might just fix the problem and is a free DIY. Make sure the oil filter is (hand) tight.
Today I went to the place that changed my oil. They said it didn’t look bad. They cleaned the pan, and tightened the bolts. I will wait a few weeks to see what happens.
Had a similar problem on my 08. Car had spent 6 years in storage before I got it. At 15000 miles leak was gone. FWIW. Unless your problem gets worse, there is a lot of drops in a quart of oil. Just my opinion.
