if your power steering hoses is old and seeping, that will be good time to replace when you have lots of room to replace it. Same goes for A/C tensioner. I didn’t replace mine since it was really good shape when I did mine last week.

You don't need to disconnect anything to do with the PS lines as there's enough slack so that you can drop everything down together. You do however need to remove the single bolt holding the steering shaft to the pump.

Dropping the rack is so much easier than draining the rack and disconnecting the flare but fitting etc. I know this is an old thread but man I would drop the subframe for sure over the other method. I just did this and it really is not that bad.
