Hey fellow Vette owners....Iam a ASE and 25 year NISSAN tech at NISSAN dealer, but want it to buy a Vette, so I found really nice one 2008 LS3 with 6 speed manual trans, that owner before me made this thing look like a Z06 to a tee. Did really nice job, Car is VICTORY red too....great looking rig, with tuned LS3 to 460HP. with that said, Im looking for fluid recommendations for the gear box and rear diff. I did change rear diff with VALVOLINE 75w90 full synthetic , that has slip additive in it, but later found that slip additive is not needed in 2008 models??? And also found something about using DEXRON III in the gear box??I have full size 9000 lb lift at home, so can do it at here, which is just awesome, just looking for fluid recommendations or thoughts from other vette peeps.
Thanks

GM repeatedly updated the lube spec and procedure for the LSD in response to complaints about noise. Finally they came out with an all-in-one gear lube P/N 88862624 with the limited-slip friction modifier already added. After that, complaints about groaning differentials seem to have gone away.
Factory fill for the manual gearbox was originally DEXRON III, but then they phased out DEXRON III altogether. Automatics got DEXRON VI instead, but according to a GM TechLink bulletin, manuals that originally used DEXRON III should not use DEXRON VI but rather ACDelco "Manual Transmission and Transfer Case Fluid" P/N 88861800. (I suspect it's just DEXRON III in a different bottle.)
Those are what I've used in my car for nearly 150K miles. LSD is quiet. Gearbox works great. Other people can recommend Amsoil this, or Royal Purple that. Your mileage may vary.
