Default looking for a cam 2011 a6 GS

so this is a 2 part question. First I'm trying to decide what cam/heads to get for my car that I can still street drive it with. I was leaning towards a Lingenfelter gt11 only because i previously had a supercharged Camaro with a gt9 in it and it drove great/wasn't moody on the street. so as of now I'm leaning towards the gt11 cam/head package unless I can find something that is more appealing/makes more power/is cheaper(without sacrificing quality.) I have no plans of going forced induction, staying N/A.

That being said, is it also worth getting a fast 102 intake/manifold as well when I get it done? As far as I can understand our stock TB's and manifolds have plenty of airflow stock, but if the fast 102 is noticeably better than I'd grab on of those too. I'm assuming I'd have to also get an aftermarket intake to make it worthwhile

Car is currently all stock except for TPS headers/tune making 399rwhp/398rwtq.

There's no magic in LPE's cam specs....or anyone else's for that matter. I think that much lift on a cam used in a street car is just dumb. Plain and simple. If you think the magic is there, by all means, send them your money. Someone like Pat G can spec you a cam that will make similar or more power without being a strain on your valve train.

A stock LS3 intake manifold is a good piece compared to what's available from the aftermarket. A ported and rod modded LS3 intake manifold is a really good piece and it won't break the bank. For a street Vette, you can spend more money, but you won't get anything better.

Bigger throttle bodies are a total waste unless you're goals are north of 550 rwhp. Maybe get one massaged for better throttle response/manners, but you're not going to see a power increase.

Just a guess but I think with Heads and a Cam the FAST would be of benefit. You have an A6 so cam selection will depend on if you are going to keep the stock torque converter or not.

Check out cam motions mild "street" cams. I got their stage 3 "mild cam" I'm pretty happy and still running the stock converter.

You can make a ton of power with stock LS3 heads. No need to change heads with a mild NA build. I would look at and talk to Pat G or BTR about their cam kits (cam, springs, pushrods). With the money saved from the heads you could put that towards better and more needed upgrades like the HB and trunions.

Here's a couple of LS3 intake manifold tests.

The Ultimate LS3 Intake Manifold Dyno Shootout! - Gwatney Performance

They also mention bigger throttle bodies. Yes, they have their place. It just isn't on a mildly modded street Vette...even with ported heads.

I'm running the Gwatney ported and rod modded stock LS3 intake manifold. It's not a huge increase in power vs the stocker, but it is significant and does it without drivability degradation. I like smooth and efficient to go along with the quicks.

The Gt11 can certainly bring home the the bacon with a stock stall. GMPP LS3 or LPE heads would be helpful as the lift is > 600. The downside is the LSK lobe needed to generate such a high lift with shorter durations and in turn how hard that can be on parts if daily driven. ORION seems to have the right idea IMHO with the Cam motion lobes.

Do yourself a favor and get Pat G's help with this. Going too small is a waste of time and money. Going too big or using a badly specced cam can kill the enjoyment of driving your Vette and cost you money on repairs. If you're going to add heads, you need to know which heads, combustion chamber size, etc before ordering any cam. Pat charges 30 or 40 bucks to spec you a cam that fits you and what you're trying to accomplish. It can be the best money you'll spend on your Vette. Unless something has changed, he uses Cam Motion or Tx Speed to grind his cams. Do it once and do it correct.
