LS3 GM oil cooler
So is this a good oil cooler or should I look for an after market kit for my 2012 A6 Grand Sport?

You can upgrade to a Dewitts radiator with integral engine oil cooler for similar money. With GM Z51 oil cooler lines, it's a bolt in proposition. I believe the Dewitts part # is 1139105Z. You'll get a cooler running engine as a bonus. Plus, your engine oil will get up to operating temp quicker. Might not be enough cooler capacity if you're doing serious road course work though. Never got mine on a road course.

If you are tracking the car, I suggest an external oil cooler and an oil temperature thermostat. DeWitt's is a great option, you can get one with both an engine and transmission oil cooler built into the radiator ala the 2007 version. For track use it is less than marginal unless you stay in colder climates, but for around town it works well. I did this with my 2012 GS when I lived in Seattle. When I moved to Phoenix, the radiator can keep up but the transmission cooler cannot.
