Default Magnetic ride question

What exactly is the difference between sport and tour mode?I'm sure this is answered somewhere on this forum but I didn't find it so please excuse my ignorance.I have a "13 GS with Signature SV104 wheels with a 335-25-20 rears.I've had the Jim Mero upgrade done.In Sport mode I get a slight rub on the right side tire in certain situations. In Tour mode I don't get the rub.Never any rub either way on the left side.Car has 10,600 miles.I don't recall that before the Mero upgrade I had any rub.Any answers? Thanks.

This should tell you what you want to know...straight out of the owners manual:

Selective Ride Control
The vehicle may have a ride control
system called magnetic Selective
Ride Control. The system provides
the following performance benefits:
. Reduced Impact Harshness
. Improved Road Isolation
. Improved High-Speed Stability
. Improved Handling Response
. Better Control of Body Ride
Motions

TOUR: Use for normal city and
highway driving. This setting
provides a smooth, soft ride.
SPORT: Use where road conditions
or personal preference demand
more control. This setting provides
more “feel,” or response to the road
conditions.
The setting can be changed at any
time. Based on road conditions,
steering wheel angle, and the
vehicle speed, the system
automatically adjusts to provide the
best handling while providing a
smooth ride. The Tour and Sport
modes will feel similar on a smooth
road. Select a new setting whenever
driving conditions change.

Also, there is now an upgrade to the system for 2009-2013 C6 if you have one of these models with the MRC option. The thread is a bit old, but the information on how the system works is relevant:

Since you said it didnt do it before, but did it after the Mero update, I would give him a call first and see what he says.

Jim's upgrade is not customized for individual cars that have been modded in ways that affect the handling. In the OP's case, the tire/wheel size change from OEM doesn't fit with the suspension tune.

I wouldn't think that the 19/20 wheel and tire change would make any difference on on Mr. Mero's upgrade since the overall height is supposed to be the same.I've sent Mr. Mero an email and we'll see what he says. Thanks to everyone for the input.

Mr.Mero replied to my email and advised that the MRC upgrade is not effected by wheel and tire change.

You might want the stiffer rear option he offers.

I would have figured that the suspension would be softer in the tour mode as opposed to the sport mode. The slight rub is only in the sport mode.

What Jim said, is that the tire/wheel size doesn't affect (cause a difference) the shock software. That doesn't mean the tire/wheel size won't cause a clearance/contact issue with the body.

I put 19x10 and 20x12 on my Grand Sport with Jim's SuperSport/Track MRC programs, no rubbing, but it is at stock height with 285 and 335 tires.
Maybe the extra 1/2 on the rim size is pushing the tires out on the front.
The NewTour mode was to soft (bouncy) for me, Jim programed his SuperSport/Track modes in for me and I like the firmer feel, not bouncy.

Do I understand correctly your programming now is Super Sport instead of Tour and Track instead of Sport?

I just have the teeny tiny rub on the right rear .I can see the rub is at the front edge of the black inner fender rock guard in the rear of the wheel well.I can probably trim it and get the clearance I need the next time I get the car cover off and mess with it.Just eyeballing the rear tires from the back it looks like the right side tire does extend out just a tad more than the left. It's no biggie just wanted to see what someone else's opinion might be.Thanks to all who responded.Oh,car is at stock height as far as I know,I've had it since 4123 miles and it's about to be at 11k
