I took my 2005 Vette to Chevy service because the engine light was on and the service traction system/competitive drive mode indicator was flashing. By the time the technician was able to check it, the light was off and he couldn’t get it to duplicate the warning signals, even after test driving it. He stated that he found several low voltage and communication code stored in history, with no current concerns. I had a few other things that needed to be done so the car was left there for a couple of weeks. That entire time, the signal light did not come on. When I returned to pick up my car and the service advisor went to retrieve my vehicle, he came back to me stating that the engine light came on as soon as he started it up (the same original issue as when I brought the car in). Once again, the technician couldn’t determine why the light was on and again mentioned the code was stored in history. He mentioned something about it seems like some type of lost communication with the modules and nothing is talking to each other. But he couldn’t figure out what was going on. They’re going to keep it a few more day to hopefully get to the root cause. Has anyone ever experienced this or perhaps knows what’s going on? This is odd?

First off welcome to the Forum and sorry your dealership is having trouble repairing your car...99% of dealerships are good at replacing parts and changing oil but most fall short when it comes to diagnostics...diagnostics is a whole different world...looks like your issue is intermittent which is hard to diagnose...don’t know what part of the country you’re in but I would find a good diagnostic shop...these Corvettes aren’t anything special that needs a dealership to fix it..did they say what codes (DTC’s) are stored ??
Thank you for the welcome. Glad to be here. They did not mention what codes were stored. I’ll have to inquire about that. The interesting thing is that I just received my OnStar diagnostic report yesterday. No issues were found with the engine or transmission system. All other vehicle diagnostics reported no issues either. Very strange.
