Engine Oil Temp digital display reading - abnormal?
What would cause the engine oil temperature reading on the digital display to go up very slowly? This is a recent thing I noticed within the last two or three drives. When I start the car, the oil temp will be around 90 or so. It increases extremely slow from there. It could take a good 10 minutes between idling after start up and cruising until it reaches 160 or so. It also seems to increase only be 2 degree increments. You can almost bet on it, it will jump from 92, 94, 96, 98, 100, 102 and so on until it hits normal operating temperature.
This is something that just started occurring about three drives again. Prior to this the oil temp seemed to increase much faster and it wouldn't just increase by 2 degree increments. What would cause this?
