So I was wondering if anyone knows that sound that I am describing first of all ? It is the sound that your start button makes when you press it .... Or maybe nobody's corvette but mine makes this noise.? hmmm I actually remember hearing it when I owned my 06 vette and so when this 09 made the same sound when I started it up, I thought nothing of it .. But now hearing these replies which in themselves are telling me something if nothing... it is very hard to record the noise as it is not to loud and it is just a faint clicking noise but I am going to try to tonight oh never mind tomorrow because it will be much to loud with fireworks and such. It is if you were taking two live wires very small wires and just barely touching them together and sending out a morris code of some kind, just a totally random zz zzz zz zz zz z z zzz zz z zzz z zzzz very faint noise but with the radio off and windows up you can definitely hear it and so I guess since nobody is replying with" oh yes that noise when you press the start button " then I am thinking mine is going bad but if anyone knows that sound then please reply and Once again !! Thank You for the reply and the help I do appreciate it so much as this Forum has been a huge help with all of my little issues I have and thank you !!
Does it vary with different speeds? C5s had center caps that caused many owners some anxious moments. I'm not familiar with the C6 wheels, so I'm just asking if this could be an issue......
it does this non stop while driving? Have you tried sticking the fob in the glove box slot or using your other fob / fresh battery?
I had weird issues with fobs if they were near my cellphone and would get that start up click no fob detected. Curious if the click while driving is due to weak fob signal.
It actually could be something to do with the FOB as I have moments that seem abnormal with the FOB. It only has the #2 FOB left and I just replaced the battery in it recently and had no problems but the noise could have started soon there after.....? The noise is totally random with occurrence and in pattern of noise when actually occurring. Sometimes it is quiet and others I need to turn the music up to cover it up...? Others are in the middle someplace. I would think that there is receiver for the FOB up under the dash, drivers side, close to the start button...So I will have to wait for it to fix itself or break .. .. I will know more as I grow daily in the world of Corvette Technology. I need more time to invest. You all are great and very helpful to me .. Thanks
Open hatch. Lift cover from floor. Inspect the modules and wiring under there. I have a bad feeling something with teeth got in and decided to try out their own brand of electronic re-engineering.
Why do I say this? Well, there's a certain audio module that controls the subwoofer in there... and that noise sounds like a floating ground at full volume.
Just wondering if you ever figured out the clicking noise your Vette was making. My ignition switch broke recently and after the mechanic put in back on the same noise started happening to my Vette. Any advice would be appreciated.
Thanks
