I have a 2006, He is what happened, I was driving down the road and a truck ran me off the road I hit a median at about 35 MPH there was no damage to the car just the driver side front wheel beyond repair. The problem I have now is when i start the car it show's a PO300 code then I cleared it drove the car around the block the engine light came on and was flashing then it showed PO3001-Po3008 and PO430. I have cleared it again and the engine is still missing and showing PO3001.I have replaced the battery and cleared the codes, it still shows the PO300 code. Where can I look next?
A P0301 is a #1 cylinder misfire…cylinder #1 is the drivers side most forward cylinder…since it was your left side that was hit I’d check the spark plug wire at the coil pack and spark plug…it may have come unplugged in the accident…just a guess !!
Yes start here. And while you are at it...check all of your plug wire connections to all coils & plugs. Spark plug wires on the C6 are famous for losing connections, primarily at the coli end.
Thank you for all the help. I just checked the car all plug wires are on, I have cleared the codes. When I start the car I can only rev it up to 4,000. The car still show's a code PO300 multiply cylinder misfire and the engine lite is still flashing all the time. The engine is still not running on all cylinders.
If all plug wires look good it may be a good idea to see if you have spark or injector pulse especially if it’s just a P0300 now..if you can get your hands on a scan tool you can see what cylinder or cylinders are misfiring….without one you can do a cylinder drop test by removing a plug wire and listening for a drop in RPM to identify which cylinder is not contributing but this test is difficult on a V8 compared to say a 4 cylinder…it is most likely a wiring issue especially since you said the tire hit the median…a flashing MIL is a catalyst damaging issue so don’t run the engine too long…I see you are directly across the state from me and I would be happy to look at it for you but that’s too far to drive the car in that condition !!
