Hi folks, I have a 2011 GS that will be making close to 800rwhp. I’m tired of my grinding second gear and thinking of replacing my GS ratios with something more conducive to big power as the GS ratios are too short. What do you folks recommend? RPM? Tick? Thanks!

RSG Rockland Standard Gear makes a great street trans also good for some racing. Tick has some good units as well but I only used them for their faceplated race unit.
Second gear grinding has nothing to do with HP, but is caused by sling shot shifting the trans, and not allowing the OEM synchro's enough time to do what they need to do to allow a clean engagement.
So HP wise, stock trans gears are fine, and its really something like changing out the syncyros to carbon fiber in that trans you have that will work with the slicker after market trans fluids and the faster shifting instead.
I would have the trans rebuilt by rpm transmissions and do the zr1 gearing, it’s pretty perfect for boosted cars. I know the stock trans in the grand sports not so much.
