Default Rock Chips - not cool

I'm noticing some light rock chips on my GS. Whats the best way to counter these? Clear bra? I want to address this before it becomes a problem...

Best option, do not drive the car, keep it in the garage.

But seriously, clear bra could be best option.

Every time I drive mine, (usually weekends) I notice a new chip. I try not to follow cars too close.

I had a couple chips and the car was filthy after first track day. Fixed the chips & installed clear paint protection film on the whole front end. Practically invisible. No more chips and tire rubber and bugs come right off with an easy wash. It's even more slippery with ceramic coating on it. I included the rockers, mirrors, door handle recesses and top of rear bumper. Was about $1400 but I can do what I want to do while keeping it looking good.

You do similar to chukman above? Certain areas of the car get wrapped? How does it perform after a few years?

i had the same issue right after i bought my 07 z. put on a set of the apsis wheel guards and the problem ceased. eventually got the doors and rear quarters re-sprayed about 9 years ago, another story, and they are still rock chip free.

kite, I do the whole vehicle most of the time that's just me and it's very expensive to do it all. I don't advise that most people wrap the whole car....probably a waste of money for most.

Some installers use pre-cut kits only. Some do full custom jobs and some do a combination. The precision of the pre-cut kits varies quite a bit from one car to the next. The guy I use custom cuts any parts if he's not pleased with that part of the kit. Find an excellent installer, that's my best advice.

"How does it perform after a few years?"

It certainly protects the paint. If it's good film it lasts. If it's faulty film it gets replaced under warranty. My 2016 ZO6, which I had fully wrapped when new, is soon to be fully re-wrapped under warranty by Xpel. The film recently started getting some tiny little specs. The case has been run and Xpel has agreed to replace it.

I find that the side door mirrors take the worse of rock chips for whatever reason. I have 110k miles on my C6, and the front facia seems to fare Ok. I had to get my side mirrors repainted over the winter.
Freeway driving near the median is the worse place to drive because of all the sand, dust and dirt gets uplifted and you can hear that stuff hit the front and sides of the car. A good coat of wax before road trips helps keep the rock chips to a minimum.

Good Luck in whatever you decide to do.

Apsis front splash guards. You will not get rock chips anymore in front of the rear wheels.

For chips on the nose I try to keep a good interval from the car in front of me. They’re the ones chucking rocks at you. If I see a sand hog truck far ahead of me I’ll get to the furthest lane from it. They’re constantly throwing out stuff that will hurt your paint, windshield. Even if the truck is far ahead the cars in front of you will assist and chuck the trucks debris up on your car. I also put on splash guard to help minimize self harm.

after 194k miles, mine looks like it's been sandblasted. pretty sure at this point, it'll need a respray. and replacement of the fog/driving lights too.
the hood could use some attention too. my issue is, that i've never been a fan of the protective front end covers. now going with a clear bra i would consider.
for now, i look at it as a badge of honor. i've waited a long time to get a corvette. i've had mine coming up on 5 years now. while it does sometimes turn into a bit of a 'whack-a-mole' ( chasing the occasional CEL and assorted repairs ),
i do still love having it.
