You’ll just have to remove the ECM connectors from the ECM and see if it blows the fuse…if it doesn't blow short to ground inside the ECM…if it blows you’ll have to find the short to ground on that circuit…easiest way is using the ohm meter function of your DVOM…set ohm meter on highest resistance scale…one lead of ohm meter on a good ground and the other lead on either end of that circuit either at the fusebox or ECM…you should see OL or whatever your ohm meter shows as an open circuit…anything other than that you have a short to ground…don’t know if there is anything else on that circuit other than the ECM because I don’t have the wiring in front of me !!
Was driving car. The car suddenly turned off a bunch of lights came on. Found the EMC fuse was blown. Every time i replace it it blows instantly.
Which fuse did you replace, just to get a reference to the circuits involved. If it's the ECM/TCM EASY KEY FUSE (15A) The first place I would look is to see if you have a loose or a spark plug wire that is off. The ECM goes to many systems, including the O2 sensors (could be a burnt wire, grounding out, etc.) the ignition coils, the AC compressor, fuel pump, transmission control module, etc etc.
What year is your C6?
I have the schematics, and connector end views, but I'm not sure how much help they would be. PM me and i can send you those if you think they will help.
