Default LS2 mystery vibration ?

Well I've shared with you all about a strange vibration I have been trying to find in the last year, well I don't know yet what it is, But I damn sure know where it is, and I did some full throttle takes off's in traffic this morning, and the vibration is right next to the drivers seat, something in the driveline. At between 3000 and 4000 RPM the whole car shakes like it was hit by lightning, stem to stern vibration. Heavy vibration. Not too sure what it is, but boy it shakes like hell on full throttle at 1-2 shift and 3-4 shift and it is almost gone by the time it shifts into 6 gear. What is in the drivetrain to cause this kind of vibration. When sitting, you get a little bit of vibration between 600 and 1300 rpm and it is pretty much gone till you get into the higher RPM's. But then it comes back like a fright train between 3000 and 4000 RPM's What does this ? I already know I need to put in a new set of valve lifters, but now I think I need to get the vibration done as well ?

Thank you,

It sounds to me like you need to have your torque tube rebuilt.

Yeah, It's been interesting enough, But I don't give up easily, so it sure looks like the Torque Tube needs to be rebuilt, And I'm sure the parts are going to be a battle to find and of course their expensive. but I'm determined to see this through, there's a great car under all these problems. I just finished with the headlight assemblies rebuild.

I don't think the torque tube bearings and couplers are all that expensive, but .... If you don't do the job yourself, the labor is going to be expensive since in order to remove the torque tube, the transmission needs to come out (requires removing the whole rear cradle).

how are you sure of all this but never looked? google the bearings, get the part #'s and cross them to SKF google that and you can buy the SKF's for pennies on the dollar from England or South America I've got mine on the shelf. all the parts are out there. I love you guys did you own any cars before this one? The Stock couplers are not expensive, Poly is a little bit more, if you have an auto you don't have to worry about a clutch, if you have a clutch I recommend you replace it and everything inside the tube because AND YES! the job is a PITA and the labor can be terrible, but the parts are not that bad.

I had a similar vibration and would have swore it was something in the drive train... I chased the issue for two months. In the end it was the water pump bearing going bad. It was easy to diagnose when the water pump disintegrated one day at about 5000 rpm.
YMMV
